Mount Rushmore South Dakota

The sky’s overcast with a little bit of drizzle but that did not stop us. Mount Rushmore can be a very emotional place for some… one of those places everyone should see.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial is host to just over two million visitors a year from across the country and around the world. It is a massive sculpture carved into the Black Hills region of South Dakota. Completed in 1941 under the direction of Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln, the sculpture’s roughly 60-ft.-high granite faces depict U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln; they tell the story of the birth, growth, development and preservation of this country, from the history of the first inhabitants to the diversity of America today.
